  • This module was designed and written with you in mind. It is here to help you gain the basic skills in Automotive Servicing 9. The scope of this module permits it to be used in many different learning situations. The language used recognizes the diverse vocabulary level of students. The lessons are arranged to follow the standard sequence of the course. But the order in which you read them can be changed to correspond with the textbook you are now using.

  • Interpreting of manual is not an easy task because you have to be familiar with the sections of the manual. Each section has a specific purpose and information.
  • Table of contents
    Lists the beginning of each car and Unit Repair Section of the manual. To find where a particular car section is located, you need to look in this section.
  • Introduction
    It is the section that tells the purpose and goals of the manual.
  • Car section

    This section is grouped by manufacturer and arranged in alphabetical order. The text and illustrations that comprise the service procedures in each Car Section are arranged in the following order of systems and components: Engine Electrical, Chassis Electrical, Engine Cooling, Engine Mechanical, Engine Lubrication, Manual Transmission, Clutch, Automatic Transmission, Steering, Brakes, Front and Rear Suspension.
  • Unit repair section

    Contains troubleshooting and overhaul procedures for the major components and systems of the car. This portion of the manual is intended to be used in conjunction with the Car Sections.
  • Safety notice

    It outlines procedures for servicing and repairing vehicles using safe effective methods. The procedures contain many NOTES and CAUTIONS which should be followed along with standard safety procedures to eliminate the possibility of personal injury or improper service which could damage the vehicle or compromise its safety.
