  • You previously learned about foot spa which defines as a great way to help you pamper yourself after a stress-filled day, as it improves the process of reflexology, which can benefit your entire body. Foot spa is a relaxing and effective technique that caters with all the demands of the feet. Primarily the technique involves soaking of the feet in a foot bath with warm water and added salt and essential oils, scrubbing, massaging and detoxifying, cleaning and applying foot lotion.
  • There are also benefits of foot spa such as beneficial in proper blood circulation; foot Spa helps in relieving stress; beneficial in relieving arthritic pain; foot Spa helps in reducing headaches; it is beneficial in treating acidity and indigestion, beneficial in treating insomnia and foot spa helps in detoxification.
  • Foot Spa Procedure
    1. Prepare all the needed tools and materials for foot spa
    2. Using a foot scrub massage gently for 5-8 minutes over the heels, ankles, soles etc
    3. Wash feet twice until water is clear
    4. Soak the feet in a plastic basin or medium size bathtub with lukewarm water solution and allow the feet to soak for about 20-30 minutes, add the foot wash to it
    5. Begin the process by washing the feet thoroughly

  • Contaminants are substances that causes contamination. Salon professionals must ensure the safety and sanitation of the salons to prevent and control infections and contagious diseases from spreading.
  • Sterilization
    The process of making an object germ-free by the destruction of all kinds of bacteria and it is also the highest level of decontamination
  • Disinfection
    The use of disinfectant and antiseptic, the second level of decontamination next to sterilization

    1. Tools which are made of plastic should be kept clean and sanitized properly in preparation for the next patron
    2. Empty bottles and containers are discarded in a covered trash bin
    3. Used treatment products and other chemicals are stored, arranged, and properly labeled in the cabinet
    4. Tabletops and door handles are wiped with disinfectant and the floor should be mopped with disinfectant as well
    5. Metal tools and instruments must be sterilized following proper sterilization techniques. After the process, store in a dry cabinet until needed
    6. Waste materials should be disposed properly in an enclosed waste bin fitted with polythene bag. The bin should be sanitized with disinfectant
