• Genotype is the genetic instructions of an organism, including the alleles it has for a particular gene
• phenotype- observable characteristic of an organism that is the product of genetic and enviromental factors
• homozygous- same alleles
• heterozygous- 2 opposite alleles
• hemizygous- only have 1 copy of an allele
