  -          contributes to emotional responses

  -          help to discriminate between different sounds and textures

  -          important in learning

  -          damage in cerebellum means difficulty in waking, keeping their balance and holding their hands steady

  -          consuming alcohol influences the cerebellum, thus difficulty in walking in a straight line
