  • An E1 is only common in Europe and interconnections to Europe.
  • E1 also works by channelizing data in 64 Kbps buckets, the same as T1. However, it has 32 channels. This gives us 32 channels of 64 Kbps, for a total of 2.048 Mbps.
  • An E3 is the European standard and consists of 16 E1 connections, or 512 DS0s, combined together to deliver 34.368 Mbps of bandwidth.
