An E1 is only common in Europe and interconnections to Europe.
E1 also works by channelizing data in 64 Kbps buckets, the same as T1. However, it has 32 channels. This gives us 32 channels of 64 Kbps, for a total of 2.048 Mbps.
An E3 is the European standard and consists of 16 E1 connections, or 512 DS0s, combined together to deliver 34.368 Mbps of bandwidth.
