    • TYPES OF COPING MECHANISMS
      • Emotion Focused Coping Strategies - seek to adjust the emotions caused by a stressful event. This includes exercising, taking a bath, giving yourself a pep talk, and meditating.
      • Problem Solving Coping Strategies - Attempt to modify the environment or situation. This includes working on managing time, asking for support, establishi8ng healthy boundaries, and creating a to-do list.

    • Toxic Positivity is the belief that no matter how dire or difficult a situation is, we should maintain a positive mindset.
    • False Reassurance: A response to a threat that is intended to reassure the person that the threat is not serious.
