• Qualifications to be a member of the BON: 1. Natural born Filipino citizen 2. Accredited professional organization member 3. Registered nurse & has Master's degree in Nursing 4. Continuous practice for 10 years 5. Away from moral issues 6. Never have been convicted
• BON is composed of 1 chairperson and 6 members
• The term for the BON is 3 years
• Powers & Duty of the BON: NLE, Issue COR (suspend & revoke). conduct hearing & investigation, and regulate the practice of nursing
• Negligence is any wrongful act that falls within your scope of nursing practice.
• Elements of Negligence: Duty, Breach in the standards, foreseeability of harm, and injury
• Malpractice is any wrongful act that is beyond the scope of nursing practice.
• Profession is an occupational calling.
• Profession - skills that the public does not possess.
• tort - an act or omission that gives rise to injury or harm to another and amounts to a civil wrong for which courts impose liability.
• Unintentional torts: negligence & malpractice
• Assault - the threat or attempt to strike another, whether successful or not, provided the target is aware of the danger.
• False imprisonment - confining another against his will.
• Intentional Torts - intentional acts causing damage to others.
• Battery - an unlawful application of force directly or indirectly upon another person or their personal belongings, causing bodily injury or offensive contact.

• benevolent deception can be done to not cause further distress however it should be temporary.

• justice - equitable distribution of resources
• equality - the state of being equal in rights, status, or opportunity, or the quality of being equal
• Equality means each individual or group of people is given the same resources or opportunities.
• Equity recognizes that each person has different circumstances and allocates the exact resources and opportunities needed to reach an equal outcome.
• The Golden Rule is the idea that we should treat others as we would like to be treated.
