  the workplace when they establish a business. Under the Work Health and Safety Act

  2011 (Cwlth), a business owner must ensure the health and safety of workers while

  they are at work in the business,
• In Victoria, work health and safety legislation is administered by WorkSafe Victoria.
• As well as enforcing Victoria’s occupational health and safety laws,
• The insurance may cover:

  • replacement of lost income

  • medical and rehabilitation treatment costs

  • legal costs

  • lump sum compensation in the event of a serious injury.

  from unfair trading practices. Furthermore, each

  major industry has its own code of practice, which

  provides businesses with guidelines for dealing with

  customers.
