  • social recognition relates to the way that we behave in social settings and how we interpret others behaviours

  • steorotypes are collections of beleifs that we have about the people who belong to a certain group, regardless of individual differences among members of that group
  • stereotyping is the process of grouping people into a category based on their beleifs/actions
  • stereotyping in-group - people who share common (positive) traits with you
  • stereotyping out-group - people who do not share common traits with you
  • prejudice refers to holding a negative attitude towards members of a group, solely because of their association
