    • nose is sensitive to various basic odors: flowery, misty, musky, ethereal, pungent, putrid, and burnt
    • sometimes we can develop an anosmia or ‘smell blindness’ for a particular odor which may suggest that one kind of receptor has been damaged or degenerated
