    -    this also mandates that man seeks for relationships where there is warmth, acceptance, and affection

    -    it is responsible in the stabilization of the person’s physical and social life
    -    it greatly influences the level of happiness of an individual through the different people and things that bring him conditions of security
    -    this feeling involves to being able to hold on one’s possession like money, relationships, career, and status

    -    there is always an interest in establishing and maintaining certain relationships with other people whether from his own race of origin or with the others
    -    this is the desire of man to be part of certain group or to be in the presence of their friends for a long period of time
  • -          status
    -    most individuals have the motive to achieve more compared to their fellowmen
    -    still the individual will have the particular status needs depending on how he perceives himself in the society that he belongs to
  • -          dependency
    -    this is the need of having someone to depend on
    -    these could be someone that you could turn to during tight situations, to have someone helping you out, or to be loved and accepted
    -    this is one of the reasons why humans want to be affiliated to certain groups or organizations
  • -          social approval
    -    when a person goes on to buy say clothes from department store, he would always try to seek the opinion of someone if the shirt looks good on him
    ›           this is the person’s need for social approval
    -    it would make the person feel more comfortable if there is recognition of approval from his environment
    ›           this is his way of being able to conform to the norms of the society
    -    people would then be motivated to try to please the people around them in order to overcome the fear of punishment if the standards are not met
