• Person on whose behalf an egent acts

  Principal
• A person appinted to act for another, usually for contractual matters.

  Agent
• A principal is liable for the torts of a agent if the tort is committed in the course of the agency.
• An agent usually used to bind his principal in contract with a third party
• Agency relationship established by an express oral or written agreement

  Express agreement
• Agency relationship concluded from the actions of a principal

  Agency by conduct
• Representation by words or conduct that a person is an agent cannot later be denied if a third party relies on the representation

  agency by estoppel
