The middle class are more likely to be labelled as hard working which will result in them doing better in education.
The working class are more likely to be labelled as naughty which will have a negative effect on their education.
Becker interviewed 60 Chicago high-school teachers and found that they judged pupils based on their conduct and appearance. He argue that middle class students were more likely to be seen as 'ideal students'.
