  • Hyperopia (Long-sighted)is caused when lens can't refract enough, so the light isn't focused and the object appears blurry. A person will be able to see distant objects clearly but close objects will be blurry.
  • Hyperopia is fixed by convex lenses in glasses, which provide extra refracting power.
  • Myopia (short-sighted) is caused when lens refract too much, causing the image to form before the retina, so light won't be focused and image will be blurry. A person will be able to see near objects but distant objects will appear blurry.
  • Myopia is fixed by concave lens in glasses, which refract light outwards.
