Circulatory system carries blood around the body. It consists of the heart and the blood vessels running through the entire body.
The circulatory system is responsible for what?
It is responsible for
nutrients, gases, wastes, and hormones.
There are four chambers of the heart;
right atrium, right ventricle, left atrium and left ventricle.
Oxygenated
blood is rich in oxygen but is low on carbon dioxide content.
Deoxygenated
blood is low in oxygen but is high on carbon dioxide content.
Heart
pumps blood throughout the body. The blood pumped by your heart gives your body the oxygen and nutrients it needs to function.
Right atrium
receives blood from the body.
Left atrium
receives blood from the lungs.
Right ventricle
pumps blood from the heart to the lungs for oxygenation
Left ventricle
pumps blood from the heart to the rest of the body

Blood vessels
are the blood that flows through tubes.
Arteries
are blood coming from the heart, it is oxygenated except for the pulmonary artery.
Veins
bring blood to the heart from the body and have a thinner wall than arteries.
Capillaries
are tiny blood vessels that connect the arteries to the veins.
Pulmonary circulation
transports deoxygenated blood from the heart to the lungs. Main function is to oxygenate blood.
Systemic circulations
carries oxygenated blood from the heart to the organs and tissues.
