The feminist movement let to changing attitudes towards women's roles and expectations. In the past boys were meant to support the family and the girls were meant to make marriage and motherhood their primary concern. Feminism helped to challenge these attitudes to give girls more confidence in their abilities. Now women can look beyond being a housewife and mother as their main role in life.
