Labelling

• Some teachers have stereotyped views and expectations of students due to the child's ethnic origin. For example, some teachers may have higher expectations of Asian students as they are considered to be capable and hardworking, and Asian girls are seen as quiet and passive. Teachers labels may lead to self-fulfilling prophecy which is where students educational achievement could be affected.
