Minority ethnic groups are more likely than white people to live in low-income households. They are also less likely to be able to afford equipment, uniform and school trips. This partially explains the underachievement by members of some minority ethnic groups. Different ethnic groups can be in the same class as a whole ethnic group won't necessarily be in one class.
