    milgram- idea of agency which argues we're socialised young to learn obedience to rules in necessary for social stability. To achieve this, must give up some free will

    individual has control and acts according to their own wishes and therefore see themselves as responsible for own actions

    individual obeys authority figure and give up some free weill. see themselves as agent of authority figure giving order and authority responsible for consequences of individuals actions
