  Cells are taken from adult tissues and induced in a lab to be pluripotent.
• Totipotent Stem Cells

  Can give rise to any cell necessary for embryonic development
• Pluripotent Stem Cells 


  can give rise to most but not all tissues of an organism
• Multipotent Stem Cells 


  Give rise to cells that have a specific function e.g. bone stem cells form RBCs
