    • Process: Without supporting services, cultural, provisioning and regulating services wouldn’t exist. There will be an inconsistency of underlying natural processes, such as photosynthesis, nutrient cycling, the creation of soils, and the water cycle
    • Outcome: Due to the inconsistency, it would lead to the ecosystems not be sustained
  • Example
    • An example can be tropical rainforests in the Amazon supporting carbon sequestration. The Amazon rainforest has functioned as a carbon sink because the trees and vegetation that is contains absorbs carbon dioxide from the atmosphere as part of their energy making process, as known as photosynthesis
