  • Call of Moses - God calls Moses to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt.
  • Revelation to Samuel - called to be a prophet charged with announcing God's word to Israel. Ironically, his first prophetic act will be to announce the destruction of Eli and his house
  • The call of Jeremiah - to be a prophet; called to bring a word from God to the people of Israel
  • Mary’s Call - And he came to her and said, "Greetings, favoured one! The Lord is with you." But she was much perplexed by his words and pondered what sort of greeting this might be. The angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favour with God.
  • The Call of Levi - Jesus called him to be His disciple. Jesus called him to write the first of the four Gospels of the New Testament.
  • Rich young man - Jesus told the young man that he needed to do one more thing. He needed to sell everything he had and give the money to the poor. Then the young man should follow Him.
  • The Vocation of Saul - A turning point in Acts comes when Saul of Tarsus is called to serve God by proclaiming Jesus as Messiah.
