What is a dependant variable?
The variable measured by the researcher
What is an extraneous variable?
Variables other than the independent variable that have the potential to effect the dependant variable.
What are participant variables?
An individual difference between the participants that may not have been controlled. e.g. age, personality, motivation.
What are situational variables?
An aspect of the environment that may not have been controlled. e.g. noise or time of day.
What is a confounding variable?
Variables which advantage or disadvantageone condition over the other if left uncontrolled. The weather could leave those who are exercising outside dissatisfied.
