  • 19 political parties participated, with 22 million votes, the election had a festive atmosphere (contrary to the fear of violence); ANC won with 62.65% of votes, and the NP received 20.39% of the votes
  • Successful 1994 elections with Mandela as President and De Klerk as Vice President and adoption of a new constitution in 1996
  • IFP got 10.54% with two ministers in the cabinet (5% for 1), Freedom Front (FF): 2.2%, Democratic Party (DP): 1.7%, Pan Africanist Congress (PAC): 1.2%, and African Christian Democratic Party: 0.5%
