      • Process: Deforestation disrupts the complex ecosystems found in the forests, alternating the land for road-building in urbanisation and mining that destroys vegetation. Human induced climate change has affected habitats due to rise in temperature and precipitation
      • Outcome: it can lead to loss of biodiversity that supports regulating and supporting services. It can also lead to soil erosion, water pollution and habitat fragmentation

      • Between 2000 and 2020, it is estimated that the Amazon lost over 17% of its forest cover. This deforestation not only destroys the habitats of countless species but also contributes to climate change by releasing significant amounts of stored carbon into the atmosphere
