• RuBP

  5 carbon compound
• 1. RuBP is combined with CO2 (carbon fixation)
• carbon fixation is catalysed by RUBISCO
• 2. Unstable 6 carbon breaks down into 2 molecules of glycerate 3-phosphate (GP)
• 3. reduced NAPD and ATP reduce GP into GALP
• 4. 1 in 6 GALP are converted into glucose to be used to make lipids etc
• 5. the other 5 GALP are reduced into RuBP using ATP
