What are the differences between typical pneumonia and atypical pneumonia?
Typical pneumonia: caused by typical bacteria, responds to common antibiotics, shows signs of lobar consolidation, prominent leukocytosis, easily isolated causative agents.
Atypical pneumonia: caused by atypical bacteria, viruses, parasites, and fungi, does not respond to common antibiotics, lacks signs of lobar consolidation, absence of leukocytosis, difficult to isolate causative agents.
