• Lan franc introduces the vows to put a stop to the corrupt monasteries who used nepotism and simony

• The new Grammar schools prepared young boys to become future powerful figures by teaching Latin ( the language of power ), numeracy and speaking French
• Earls we’re given permission to start their own monasteries called Cluniac monasteries
• Cluniac monasteries were beneficial to Earls and their families as Cluniac monks would pray for their soul which meant quicker entry to get into heaven
• Earl of Surrey, de warenne is an example of an earl who opened a Cluniac monasteries
