Problems with analogy

• presupposes existence of God. Less convincing without this presumption.
• Only of use to believers
• Analogy has to have some shared understanding, some basis for comparison. This is not possible when speaking about God. He is beyond human understanding.
• Analogy lacks clear understanding of God
• Analogy of proportionality is only meaningful if both terms are known. We do not know God and so analogy of proportionality is pointless.
