  • INSULATING PRACTICAL (w/ newspaper)

    1. Wrap layer of newspaper around metal can.
    2. Boil water in kettle.
    3. Pour into metal can.
    4. Put Themometer into hole.
    5. Record starting temperature and final and start stopwatch
    6. Record temperature every 3 minutes.
    7. REPEAT adding more layers and no layer.
    8. Create results table, graph and compare.
  • INSULATING PRACTICAL (CHANGE INSULATION)

    1. Place Small beaker in larger beaker.
    2. Boil water in kettle. Transfer 80cm3 in small beaker.
    3. Use carboard lid with hole for themometer.
    4. Record starting temperature and stopwatch
    5. Record temperature every 3 minutes.
    6. REPEAT with same volume of water.
    7. But put a different insulating material in large beaker.
    8. Create results table and compare.
