• Diffusion is the net movement of particles from a higher region/ higher concentration to a region of lower concentration: that is down a concentration gradient ( until equilibrium is reached )
• The larger the cell the smaller the surface area to volume ratio . Number of face x area of one face = surface area
• Osmosis is the net movement of water molecules from a region of

  higher water potential to a region of lower water potential down a

  water potential gradient through a partially permeable membrane.
