    • Internal validity - Is the experiment measuring what it aimed to measure.
    • High control = high internal validity
    • External Validity - Can results be generalised to outside of the experiment.
    • Laboratory experiment = high internal validity
    • Natural experiment = High external validity
    • Ecological validity - Does the situation represent /correlate with what would happen in real life.
    • Temporal validity - Does the time period in which the research was carried out affect findings.
    • Population validity - Does the sample reflect the population. Is there a mix of ages, cultures, genders.
