Obedience

  The 'parts' people play as members of various social groups, accompanied by expectations of appropriate behaviour for each role. e.g. Student->obedient
• Obedience


  ~A form of social influence, in which an individual follows a direct order from a perceived authority figure.
• Agentic State


  ~where the individual is acting on behalf of another and therefore feels that they have diminished personal responsibility meaning they don't feel guilty for their actions because they are the agent of others, usually of a higher status.
• Autonomous State


  ~where the individual assumes full responsibility for their own behaviours and actions, guided by their own values, beliefs and principles.
