Disorders

Cards (25)

  • what is anemia
Low Iron = Low Red Blood Cells = Low Oxygen in blood, therefore you are tired and dizzy
  • What is Arteriosclerosis
-Build up of plaque (fat and calcium) that narrows the diameter of the artery
    -causes Haight blood pressure
-prevents blood from getting where it needs to
  • Weakening of ordinary walls = aneurysm = blood clot (genetic, aging)
  • anemia treatment

-Not enough red blood cells bringing oxygen
-Iron deficiency - iron supplements + iron rich foods
-Vitamin deficiency - foods rich in B/2
  • Dental cavities
caused by bacteria in the mouth, produces acid as a by-product, acid eats away at the enamel (causes hole)
  • Ulcers
Holes in G.I tract, caused by digestive juices
  • Hepatitis
Inflammation in liver because of viruses, drugs and alcohol
  • Cirrhosis
Scarring of liver because of inflammation
  • Gall Stones
Crystallization of bile in gall bladder.
    Stones block bile ducts
  • Diarrhea
Frequent and loose liquid bowel movements
    Chime passes through L.I
  • Constipation
Chyme passes through L.I too slowly, too much water causing stools to be hard and dry
  • Hemorrhoids
    Swelling and inflammation of veins
  • Thrombosis
Formation of a blood clot within a blood vessel, potentially obstructing blood flow
  • Ischemia
Tissue death due to restricted blood and oxygen supply, often from a blockage
  • Embolism
A floating clot that can lodge in blood vessels, causing blockages
  • Angina
Chest pain from reduced blood flow to the heart, sometimes signaling a heart attack
  • Aneurysm
A bulge in the an artery wall due to weakening, which can burst and cause internal bleeding
  • Arteriosclerosis
Hardening and narrowing of arteries from plaque build up, raising blood pressure and risking blockage
  • AutoImmune disorders
Conditions like Crohn’s disease, allergies, rheumatoid arthritis, where the immune system attacks the body’s own cells
  • Leukaemia
A cancer of blood forming tissues, leading to an abnormal production of WBC
  • Hemophilia
A genetic disorder affecting blood clotting, leading to excessive bleeding
  • Lymphoma
Cancer affecting lymph nodes and WBC production
  • Anemia
A deficiency in RBC or hemoglobin, reducing oxygen transport and causing fatigue
  • Mononucleosis (mono)

Often caused by the Epstein-Barr virus, it makes lymph nodes swell and can cause spleen enlargement
  • HIV / AIDS
HIV attacks immune cells, potentially leading to AIDS, where even minor infections can become life threatening
