  • National park - An area of outstanding beauty in the countryside, with natural landscapes, protected from development by the government.
  • National parks came into law in 1949, when people worked 6 days a week in polluted factories. This was because landowners in the countryside were closing off their land and trying to keep visitors away. This made people very angry. Protestors began to be aroused with the fact that they thought they deserved the right to enjoy the countryside.
  • Castletown is a honey pot town because it is in the heart of the Peak District, which receives many people that go on walks. It also is pretty which attracts more visitors for the beauty and the surroundings.
  • Sustainability means whether the quality is good enough to last for future generations and for the needs of today.
  • Tourist - a person who is not from a country going to a country to look at attractions.
  • Honeypot - a place that receives many people due to its attractions.
  • Limestone - a type of stone (sedimentary)
    that is sometimes used to build houses
  • Rural - countryside
  • Land Use - how the land is used
  • Economy - the money in the country.
  • Primary Industry - factories e.g. mines, fishing companies. Involves getting raw materials from the earth.
  • Secondary industry - Involves making things (manufacturing).
  • Tertiary industry - services e.g firemen, paramedics, police.
