  • Crime statistics and studies show that more working class members commit crime than middle class members. But there are other types of crime that cost society more than visible crimes and these are called White collar crimes.
  • White collar crimes are committed by members of the middle class and are linked to their employment to benefit themselves for example like embezzlement. White collar crime takes shape in several ways , occupational crime - this is carried out to only benefit the offender from it's company, Professional crime - this is carried out as a lifetime career like drug dealing , Corporate crime - this is carried out by directors to increase profit within their organisation/company , and Computer crime - this is carried out by using a computer such as illegal transfer of money.
  • Statistics show that white collar crime costs Britain 14 billion pounds a year which is almost five times as much as burglary.
