    • PLO attacked Israel from within Lebanon
    • Lebanese + Christian militias in conflict
    April 1975, Civil war starts after Christian militia attacks a bus full of Palestinians.
    • Accused Palestinians of attacking a church.
    • June 1976: Syria invade to restore peace.
  • October 1976: Arab League approve 30,000 strong Arab deterrent force.
    (which included 27,000 Syrians)
    • Lebanon protest it.
    14 + 15 March 1978 - South occupied
    • Invaded by Israel - wanted to stop PLO
    Israel ally with SLA (South Lebanese Army)
