  • In the polar cell, it has low precipitation as it falls mostly as snow from cold air sinking, creating high pressure.
In the ferrel cell, it is where the cold air sinks, creating high pressure and where the hot air rises, cools, condenses and falls as rain.
In the hadley cell, it is where the hot air rises, cools, condenses and falls as rain. This air rises higher than the other two cells however as the temperatures are higher at the equator from the sun's concentrated rays
  • Extreme weather is when a weather event is significantly different from the usual weather
  • Areas where the air is warmed often have lower pressure because the warm air rises.
