  • what does autotrophic mean

    photosynthetic organisms
  • what an example of saprotrophic
    a decomposer
  • what does heterotrophic mean

    a consumer
  • ATP stores small amounts of enery meaning not as much energy will be wasted. each cell needs its own supply of it as it cant pass through the plasma membrane. energy is transfered from it by the transfer of a phosphate ion.
  • what does phosphorylation mean

    ADP -> ATP
  • what does the compensation point mean

    when the rate of photosynthesis and respiration are equal. so the uptake of CO2 matches the production of CO2
  • autotrophs can produce their own food. so are able to synthesise complex orgainic molecules by light energy or chemical energy and inorganic molecules
  • heterotrpohs consume their own food so are unable to synthesise their own complex organic molecules. instead they break down consumed food into simplier soluble molecules through the use of enzymes
