  • Antagonistic muscles are when two muscles are in a pair. For example, the elbow has two muscles that move your forearm up or down. The biceps and the triceps.
  • The two types of joints are the ball and socket joint and the hinge joint.
  • Examples of ball and socket joints are the hip and shoulder joint.
  • An example of the hinge joint is the elbow joint.
  • When muscles contract, they pull the tendon, which pulls bones that they are attached to causing movement in the joints.
  • The three types of muscles are cardiac, smooth and skeletal.
  • Smooth muscles are found in internal organs and blood vessels.
  • Cardiac muscles are found only in the heart.
  • The skeletal muscle is attached to the skeleton.
  • The functions of the skeleton is to support the body, protect some vital organs, help the body move and to make blood cells.
  • The brain is protected by the skull, the heart and lungs is protected by the sternum and the ribcage, the spinal cord is protected by the vertebral and the nerve bundle is protected by the clavicle.
