• 1 - in pathway 1, one electron from the reaction centre chlorophyll flows along a number of electron acceptors
• 2 - the electron loses energy as it passes along the electron acceptors
• 3 - this energy is picked up by ADP and converted to ATP
• 4 - The electron eventually returns to the chorophyll molecule and the same process can be repeated again
• know as cyclic photosphorylation
