Interpretation 2 - the 'Political view' was between 1939-1948 and it was believed appeasement was foolish, cowardly and immoral.
Interpretation 3 - the 'Orthodox view' was between 1948 to the 1960s and it was believed Chamberlain had good intentions but misjudged and miscalculated Hitler.
Interpretation 4 - the 'Revisionist view' was from the 1960s onwards and it was believed that Chamberlain did not have any other options as he faced an aggressive dictator with overwhelming military power.
Interpretation 5 - the 'Counter Revisionist view' from the 1990s onwards believed that Chamberlain was part of the problem.
