Social engineering is the manipulation of individuals into performing actions or giving away personal information that can be used for fraudulent purposes.
Blagging – When a person creates a false story to gain a person interest so that they will give money, or information.
Phishing – Gaining sensitive information by impersonating a legitimate business or person via email or website.
Spam – When unwanted, unnecessary email is sent in large numbers to a random list of people. It can be for marketing or as a result of or in order to spread viruses.
Shouldering – The practice of looking over another’s shoulder or behind their back using tools like cameras to obtain information, passwords or account details.
