      • failure resulted in criticism of the gov from the FNTT agricultural union
      • gov had raised expectations among the Spanish peasants but the reforms had failed to deliver effective reform
      • socialists and UGT became more radical demanding new reforms which would lead to the genuine distribution of land

    • CEDA:
      • leader = Gil-Robles
      • he was a massive critic of the constitution
      • toured the country speaking out against the reform
      • support for CEDA grew rapidly in the areas affected by agricultural reforms - Castile, Aragon, and parts of Andalucia
      • CEDA - reforms would drive down the price of wheat and doing so plunge small farms into further poverty.
      • party campaigned for an increase in the minimum price of wheat. - lead to higher profits for the major landowners and make almost no differences to the income of small farmers.
      • r/w press began a campaign against the agricultural minister, Marcelino Domingo
      • Domingo's policies were to blame the poverty of small farmers
      • r/w campaigns were highly successful and a key reason for the growth of support for CEDA in the November 1933 elections
