  • Our habitus (deep ingrained cultural beliefs) mean we can never fully fully 'know' people of different cultures
  • We can never trust ethnographic data as we never really know what people are thinking. E.g They may tell us what they think we want to hear
  • It is hard to define 'self'. A person's identity is based on two aspects. How person views him/herself. How the person perceives how 'others' see him/her by referring to ethnographic material anthropologists have observed that we are unable to fully know each other
