Our habitus (deep ingrained cultural beliefs) mean we can never fully fully 'know' people of different cultures
We can never trust ethnographic data as we never really know what people are thinking. E.g They may tell us what they think we want to hear
It is hard to define 'self'. A person's identity is based on two aspects. How person views him/herself. How the person perceives how 'others' see him/her by referring to ethnographic material anthropologists have observed that we are unable to fully know each other
