Synapses and reflexes

• Synapses are connections between neurons.
• Neurons are responsible for transferring information as electrical signals.
• Information is transferred across synapses by chemicals or neurotransmitters, which move or diffuse across the gap between neurons.
• A reflex arc is an example of a specific response to a stimuli.
• Reflexes are very rapid responses and they don't require conscious thought, they're automatic or involuntary.
