Gerald Croft is quite a confident character, although he’s a part of the younger generation, he seems to agree more with Mr Birling, this reflects his higher class, compared to Eric and Sheila. He is honest and admits to the affair with Eva, even though he knew this would affect his relationship with Sheila, he explains that he only helped her because he felt bad. At the end of the play, he hasn’t changed much and agrees with Arthur to try and get the family out of trouble.
