    I recently interviewed the folk singer Mike Dawn (0) about his protest songs and the impact his music (1) has..had on young people in recent years.
    He explained to (2) me. that he wrote,
    as he says, from his heart about things which really bothered him. But he had never intended that the songs (3) would reach out to others in the way they have.
    He admitted that if people found them moving and helpful (4) in expressing their own feelings, then that is what any artist would want, (5) but / although he
    had not set himself up as a protester.
