Waves are disturbances that move away from a source and carry energy. It transmits energy with or without a medium.
Waves do not move or carry matter.
First nature of waves, TRAVELS through some forms of matter, which may be solids, liquids, or gases
The second nature of waves is CARRIES ENERGY. As a wave travels through a medium, it transmits vibrational energy from one particle to another particle of the medium
Waves play a major role in the transmission of information.
Third nature of waves, VIBRATION CAUSES WAVE ENERGY by causing a disturbance in the medium that becomes the source of the wave
The fourth nature of waves, WAVES TRAVEL THROUGH A MEDIUM, the material through which a wave travels is called a medium. Gases (such as air), liquids (such as water), and solids (such as ropes) all act as mediums.
Waves transfer energy but not matter. The energy is transferred but the position of the particles remains unchanged over time.
