• What is the purpose of a peer review?

  • Determine the quality and relevance of research
  • provide feedback and improvements
• The psychologist submitted her investigation report to a journal for peer review. What would she expect the process to involve?

  • her report would be sent for independent scrutiny (checked/reviewed) by other psychologists.
  • they would consider eg validity, ethics, errors, significance, originality, and possible improvements.
  • to see whether it should be published.
